Wow ! What a tremendous accomplishment!

Good morning. Have you heard yet ? We’ll if not let me be one the first to congratulate the folks over at Ravelry for hitting four million users! That’s right 4,000,000. At around 12am Eastern they welcomed the new user who tipped the scales ( I wonder if that person knows they’re number 4 mil?). If you’d like to know more give this link a cut paste and check it out

The Big Finish!

I don’t know about you but the closer I get to the end of a project the more excited I get . I have to admit that I get a little obsessive about. It’s like an unveiling , I can’t wait to see the item pre-blocking and then it’s as if the item can’t dry fast enough ! How do you feel as you get closer to completing a project ?

Ninety-Three

This piece is being created for a very special Lady who turns 93 this month. It’s been a real joy working on this piece , the colors , and the feel of the yarn (Madeline Tosh) as it moves
through my fingers. I also think about all of the experiences this woman has had on her journey. From raising a family to the invention of the home computer she has seen it all! I feel privileged to have been chosen to create this Shawl for her.

Whats Love Got To Do With It?

Since today is all about love I thought I’d create a little post about it. What exactly is it? I think if you asked 1000 different people you’d likely get 1000  different answers. For some it is deep, passionate and long lasting, for others it’s fleeting , illusive and temporary. Whatever it is for you I hope that this day is filled with it ,remember to ALWAYS love yourself first and one other thing… my favorite Valentines Day gift is luxurious hand spun, hand dyed yarn! Image

Every day is a good day to , Adorn Yourself!

I Confess

I am hooked on hooking! No ; not that kind! I mean Crochet the lovely relaxing art of looping yarn to create beautiful wearables, home accessories , you name it! It all began when I was about 12 years old, my Mother taught me and there was a woman who lived about 4 doors down named Ynez Metheny  who created truly amazing Afghans. At first I dove right in and managed to complete a hat…I think. Anyway like all “tweens” I wanted to be cool and hip and somewhere along the line I decided that Crochet was neither cool nor hip. Fast forward many years ( no I’m not going to tell you how many) and a very ,very dear friend partnered into a yarn shop. Of course she had ever yarn imaginable and in short order I had picked up a hook and was off. That was about 5 years ago, now if I’m at home and I’m still , there’s a hook in my hand (and usually a glass of wine in the other). Come and join me as I post photos of works in progress, and talk about anything else Crochet related (or sometimes not Crochet related). If you want to see my work come visit me at:
